How to pack moving boxes

Packing before a move can be much easier with some planning and the right materials. Preparing your personal belongings in advance also helps the moving process run more efficiently.

Get the right supplies
First, estimate how many moving boxes you will need. It is better to have a few extra boxes than to overload them. Packing tape, bubble wrap, packing paper and wrapping foil may also be useful depending on the items you are packing.

Moving boxes can be ordered from us in advance and delivered before your moving date, so you can pack your personal belongings yourself.

Sort your belongings before packing
Before you start, go through your belongings and decide what you want to keep, donate, sell or throw away. This reduces the amount of items you need to pack and transport.

Pack similar items together and label each box with the room it belongs to and a short description of its contents.

Use the right packing method
Fragile household items such as glasses, plates, porcelain, decorations and other small objects should be individually wrapped in bubble wrap or packing paper and placed securely inside moving boxes with suitable cushioning material.

Do not overload boxes. Heavy items such as books should be packed into smaller boxes, while lighter items can be placed in larger ones.

Furniture protection
Our moving team can wrap and protect furniture for transport using suitable protective materials. Furniture protection during the move is different from packing personal belongings into boxes.

Packing household items, kitchenware, books, decorations and other personal belongings into boxes is not part of our standard moving service and should be completed before the movers arrive.

Label every box
Clearly label each moving box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes loading, unloading and unpacking much easier.

Pack valuables separately
Jewellery, important documents, cash, electronics and other valuable or personal items should be packed separately and preferably transported by you personally.

Prepare before moving day
For an efficient move, boxes and personal belongings should be packed and ready for transport before the moving team arrives. Our movers can then concentrate on protecting furniture, loading, transportation and unloading.

After the move
Used cardboard boxes and packing materials should be recycled or disposed of responsibly whenever possible.
